Bob McIntyre, for 50 years the official photographer for the Broadmoor Hotel, died
suddenly March 13 at his home. He was 83. He is survived by his wife, Roberta and daughters Jennifer McIntyre and Julie McIntyre.

A third generation Colorado Springs resident, Bob was born January 4, 1928, the son of Harry E. and Ada (Norman) McIntyre. He was a 1947 graduate of Colorado Springs (now Palmer) High School and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in Japan.

In his half century at the Broadmoor, he photographed celebrities from the worlds of sports, entertainment, business and politics, including seven presidents, that are featured in the Wall of Fame exhibit at Broadmoor West.

His photos have been published in Life, Look, Sports Illustrated, The New York Times, and Washington Post, among others. He is also known for his large panoramic landscapes of the American Southwest, particularly Monument Valley and Canyon de Chelly.

He was a member of the Professional Photographers of America and served
on the board of the International Association of Panoramic Photographers.

A celebration of his life will be take place Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. in Broadmoor West.
